Best natural protein mix for women?

Ok so i'm getting ready for the marines and really need to start building muscle. What are the best natural protein mixes? Any home remedy recipes?
Also when should I take it?

Posted by softballchick

Well, you're not going to get supplements in the Corps so you may as well stick with the best mix which is what you get from eating a healthy diet of food. If you're thinking about supplemental protein, don't.

If you need to know how to eat, here's how.

There's only one way to eat but it can include many different things. Here's that story.

Whether you want to gain weight, lose weight, add muscle, or maintain, you should use the same diet. In other words, everyone should be eating essentially the same macro nutrients (carbs, fats, protein), micro nutrients (vitamins, minerals, fiber, etc.) barring special health or medical considerations because we all have essentially the same physiognomy and there is only one version of peak health. Here is how we should all eat according to the US National Institute of Health who are among the best health professionals in the world and the people doctors listens to in the US.

Eat varied, wholesome, and high quality foods such that your daily caloric intake is about equal to your daily caloric burn while keeping your macro nutrient ratios at about 55/25/20 (%calories from carbs/fats/protein). Only slight changes should be made in the macro nutrient ratios to accommodate the extreme demands of special activities such as extreme athletics or inactivity due to illness.

Note: Here are the details in case you're interested:

You get to make the food choices (no supplements without a doctor's recommendation) based on your location, culture, available foods, personal preferences, personal resources, food allergies, etc. However, the words "varied", "wholesome", and "high quality" are important. And, you should consume your food in 4-6 daily meals with healthy snacks between such that you're nourishing yourself every two hours when awake.

VARIED means a variety of foods including fruits, dairy, meats, vegetables, grains, nuts, etc.
WHOLESOME means as unprocessed, unrefined, nutritious as is practical.
HIGH QUALITY means using the best ingredients, the least contaminants or fillers or unnecessary chemicals, etc.

Nutrient tracking is necessary to ensure you have the optimal caloric intake and macro nutrient balance. For most people, tracking is only required for fat loss because of the difficulty in cutting intake and nutrients while maintaining digestive and appetite satisfaction. However, tracking is an excellent exercise for noobs who are just learning how to eat right for the first time. Tracking makes it necessary to read labels, look up food nutrients, record data, plan meals and recipes, etc. And, as annoying as it may be to have to track, it is easier to do today than ever before with the help of website such as My Fitness Pal —> Http://www.myfitnesspal.com . Here's my tracking as an example –> Http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/clickmaster

Good luck and good health!!

Does images of African-American women in media really affect lives of women of color? ?

If you have stories or you know about things that happened with your friends like extreme weight losses or others pleasee mention it !

This question is about women so guys answer too if you have any examples of girls/women in your life that seems affected by the media images of women of color…

The only thing the media has taught me in regards to black women is that they are scared of our beauty, they are scared we will take the limelight away from their precious barbie doll women, So they look for the most unattractive (black) women they can find to put in their commercials/shows. They refuse to accept any other race of women to be as/more beautiful then their white women.

Weight loss, no appetite, hormone imbalance?

Ok so not to go into extreme detail but I'm 28, 98lbs and 5"4. This is my normal. I've struggled with weight gain all my life. I just found out I'm happy when I'm on my period and during pregnancy (2kids). So dr says hormone imbalance. Okay well im3 months pp right now. I've lost all my baby weight and extra weight. I'm breastfeeding. But I'm struggling :( I've lost more weight, I have no appetite, by the way I'm not depressed (Im lying either), I'm tired and exhausted (sickness going around)… I honestly think I have a problem. This has been going on for yrs. My body loves when I'm about 105-110 but I can never get there not prego. Any ideas? I do ensures and meals but not big ones. But then sometimes I can't even get myself to eat :( again I'm happy not depressed. (I know what baby blues are, had them with my first) , I really don't wanna give up breastfeeding but I feel like I'm on a path that is leading to it.

Keys to Successful Weight Loss

Questions and Answers

Successful weight-loss tips….?

I'm 17 and am so unhappy with the way my body is at the moment. I have trouble with weight management, especially due to the fact I've suffered with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for over 3 years. I've been pretty slim in recent years, but never skinny. I have a couple of outfits which I feel satisfactory in, however I totally lack body confidence. A majority of my clothes do not flatter me at all. I'm sick of my body and my weight.
I'd really appreciate some diet tips, please? Ones that guarentee success?
The thought of dieting and skipping a meal makes me jump out of my skin in formidability. I seem to have become addicted to relentless food intake and snacking, due to my condition. (Naughty, naughty)
Note: I have no money to join a gym.
I feel like crying because my body gets me down all the time. I think of nothing but food and body image seemingly every minute of the day.
Is the key to losing weight self-belief? I feel like I'll never lose weight and be slim. It seems to be the hindrance in my will-power to adhere to a rigorous diet plan. At the back of my mind I have a voice eating away at me, questioning what diet plan to go by, will it work, will I ever reach my goals, what the hell I should do for guarenteed success etc.

Sorry for the rant. :)

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym – a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

What are the keys to a successful weight loss program..?

Hello Everyone,

What are you looking for when trying a weight loss program?

Thank you for your time.

Posted by Y

The key to weight control is education and finding a way of eating that

1 – Matches your metabolic type and

2 – You find enjoyable enough so that you can stay on "the diet"

Actually a better way to look at it is your "diet" is what you are going to eat from now on. Not something you are going to "go on" until you lose so many pounds.

Good luck!

Questions about acai berry supplements?

I want to take an acai berry supplement. With a high dose of acai, but with no caffeine…any ideas?
I dont want to loose weight, i just want it for the antioxidants and other health benefits…

Posted by Shananigans*

Nothing is special about the acai berry, it has a short shelf life so unscrupulous people have turned them into an industry based on lies, false testimonials, false blogs and digitally enhanced photographs.
There are more antioxidants in bkueberries, oncord grapes, black cherries for example.

WASHINGTON—The Center for Science in the Public Interest…
"There's no evidence whatsoever to suggest that açai pills will help shed pounds, flatten tummies, cleanse colons, enhance sexual desire, or perform any of the other commonly advertised functions."

"The woman depicted on Tara's Diet Blog, Olivia's Weight Loss blog, Alicia's Diet Blog, Becky's Weight Loss blog, and at least 75 other blogs is a German model named Julia who has nothing to do with acai or any weight-loss product. The German photographer who made the original photos of her available on Istockphoto.com said the pill companies manipulated some of the "after" images to give the impression of weight loss. The fake blogs were first uncovered by a real blog, wafflesatnoon.com, written by an ad-industry insider."

So buy fresh fruit and vegetables, much better for you and you save money.

What the black lady name from the tv show the VIEW.?

Posted by wowonchelle

Star Jones Reynolds

Starlet Marie Jones Reynolds (born March 24, 1962 in Badin, North Carolina), is one of the stars of The View, a popular women-oriented talk show on the American Broadcasting Company television network. She is a former lawyer and prosecutor. She earned her B.A. At American University and got her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of Houston.

Prior to joining the cast of The View, she was a correspondent and the chief legal analyst on Inside Edition, where she covered the O. J. Simpson murder trial and was the only one to interview him during his civil trial.

In June 2003, Jones was sued by a landscaping company, which alleged she had agreed to ensure that the firm would receive credit for their work on a rooftop garden for her Upper East Side penthouse duplex in a quid pro quo exchange. The work was done in advance of an article about her home in the October 2003 issue of Architectural Digest. The Smoking Gun website reported on the suit, including a copy of a letter she signed which agreed to the deal.

Star Jones married banker Al Reynolds in November of 2004. In December of that year, WE: Women's Entertainment named her the top Bridezilla of 2004.

Jones has often been the target of American tabloids and gossip shows. Jones brought a huge amount of attention to her extravagant marriage to Reynolds and the marriage became the target of many jokes by late night comedians. Jones has said repeatedly that the tabloids don't bother her as long as she "gets [her] paycheck at the end of the week."

Conan O'Brien has made a habit of making fun of Jones; even after her dramatic weight loss (about which Jones has said very little), O'Brien has continued to target Jones and her weight on a weekly basis. O'Brien even took a crack at Jones the night that fellow View co-host Joy Behar was a guest on his show. Jim Rome commonly refers to Star as "Planet," obviously poking fun at her weight problem. Ironically, she has lost so much weight, even since the photo accompanying this article, that she looks near-anorexic as of early 2006.

Jones has written two books. The first book was called You Have to Stand for Something, or You'll Fall for Anything. In January of 2006, Jones published her second book, Shine : A Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Journey to Finding Love, detailing changes she made to re-shape her life, including her dramatic weight loss.

Jones Reynolds made a comment on The View show on ABC on January 19, 2006, comparing the ego of President Bush to Osama bin Laden that triggered a great deal of controversy.

Black Women Losing Weight

Questions and Answers

WHy are most black women so Big?

I know the entire country is overweight, but black women are the MOST overweight group of all. If you want stats look up any website, use google. There is tons of evidence.

Posted by

Yeah i've noticed this too. At my jobs most of the black women that come in, regardless of age, are obessely over weight. It's odd that they sit here and wonder why black men won't marry them because the answer is right in front of them. In the mirror.

Lose some freaking damn weight already and stop wearing fake hair and other off the wall retarded shit like low cut jeans that show off your thong straps that come up as high as your belly button. That's fucking nasty man. Get some damn decency and stop walking around stores in your sweat pants and white tees that have grease stains all over them. Black womens negative image in this country is no one elses fault but black women themselves.

Clean up and get some class.

Do black people ever excercise and lose weight?

There are so many fat black people who eat up the grease.

Posted by NONAME

Big or small black people generally look good compared to you whites.
Just look at the confidence black women have even when they are big.
Just look at the natural curves black women have even when they are big
I pick a black woman any day.

Weight loss nightmare?

I know what you are going to say already. Just implement a little exercise in your daily routine and cut back on your calories. Bull-Spit. I was always average. Size 8-10 in high school (average for a black woman) and then college. My parents got divorced and the cafeteria was all you can eat. They even had a desert bar. If I knew then what I know now. By my mid sophomore to junior year I was a chunky monkey. (no pun intended brothers and sisters). I read a book about the Atkins diet and I dropped 35 pounds. I must have been feeling pretty smug because I didn't even notice gaining it all back with an 8 pound interest. Whew. And at 27-28 it is not really about looks and campus status. Well let's be honest I'm a woman, It's always about looks. But I'm concerned with my health as well. Everything bad seems to be tied into weight. Diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, infertility, GERD, unemployment. Ok I might have embellished a little at the end, but unless your are a genius at whatever it is you do, that slim filly with equal qualifications will get a call back well before sister neck-bone. And I know what you're gonna say. I should love me; all of me. I read all of the self help books, articles, you tube videos but bump it. I can't stand me. As a matter of fact it's not even me. I'm trapped in here under this big girl. Help me out. Whatever it is I was able to do 4 years ago must have been a fluke because I can't seem to get it accomplished again. It's like the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, I can't find the flunking trap door. I am presently unemployed so I can't afford Jenny/20 Nutrisystem of weight watchers so what do I do. I tried the cabbage diet, Yikes! Lasted 3 1/2 days. There was sever weather and I was so nervous I ran right to the fridge.

Posted by Alesia

Ok, check it out, all that bullshiz about Love all of me, is just a way to make you not have to lose weight, and the other fat people around you dont feel like they suck all of a sudden. Its totally wrong, and its why we are the fattest nation on the planet. Love yourself, was supposed to be a way to deal with those few pounds that we just cant get rid of, not a way to justify being a whale. That whole idea was made up by weak people that hate themselves, but would rather just live in a giant body and make the rest of us suffer for it. How many times have you had to sit next to a fat person that takes up the whole seat and part of yours too? Fact is, they should be embarrassed as hell and then they might put down the Ben and Jerrys and do a sit up or 2. I dont talk from a skinny point of view, I have gained 50 pounds myself, and I hate it. You have to hate it too, then you will be uncomfortable and want to change it. Change wont occur if you are comfortable. Why change? Your ok with it right? Poppycock! No one wants to be a fatty. NO ONE! Some people can never be as skinny as others. But it is how we deal with it that sets one apart from another. Heres the thing. Diet has become the worse 4 letter word out there. The fact is, diet is just what we eat. Your diet is what you eat, so your always on a diet. It is what is in the diet that gets you. People think they have to stop eating all good tasting things and only eat bad tasting things until they are not fat anymore, then they can go back to the original diet and have fun again. NO! You have to evaluate what makes you eat, and what you eat. Make small changes and keep them. If you go for the fridge anytime you feel nervous, thats just a conditioned response. You can change that. You created it. You were not born with that desire, you found that food makes you feel better, as do alot of people. Hell I have had a bad week and I am fighting the urge to bake a chocolate cake! I made the dam frosting first! So now I have to make the cake right!? Oy! Just keep the faith and always remember how you got big in the first place. I was a nice skinny guy until my dad got sick and suddenly I was eating meat lovers pizzas all by myself. Now Im fat and I hate it. Everyone says, your not fat! BS! If I think I am then I am. As far as exercise, you have to do some, just make it fun, the best workouts are the ones we dont even know we are getting. Find something physical that you like to do and do it vigorously. Have fun and it wont be exercise, but you will still burn a lot of calories. Remember this little line, "By the yard, its hard. But inch by inch, anything is a cinch!" Best of luck to you! Thanks!

How much could I lose? Advice appreciated?

Okay so in the past my weight has been a huge problem of mine and it had caused many problems. I'm am now 4 weeks clean from cutting myself which has been tough but I've found other ways to let my pain out. I've also recently gained the conference to join my local gym with a friend of mine. I currently go every Wednesday and Friday, I will be adding Mondays once my friend has finished her rehearsals and done her performance, I can't go Tuesdays or Thursdays due to being busy with extra hours of school on these days. My weight is a huge issue for me as I'm 15, 5'6 and weigh 14 stone! I've always been overweight which has caused huge issues for me I have recently discovered I have a high blood pressure and I've always had skin rubbing problems it's now so bad that my inner thighs, armpits and slightly under my boobs and around my neck is completely black which has caused a huge confidence issue to where I refuse to go swimming or wear any clothing where these body parts are visible! This issue possible can never be solved now and I'm scarred for life!
Anyway what I'm basically asking here is if when I go to the gym I do 20 minutes on the bikes, 20 minutes on the elliptical machine and 20 minutes on the treadmill. How much weight could I lose in 4/5 months with cutting down on what I eat and cutting junk food out??
Thanks you

P.s. Any other advice would be handy!

The average weight loss from reading a few LCHF (low carb high fat) success stories is 1.2kg or 1.3kg per week. You can check out the weight loss stories on Diet Doctor.

The dark skin could be a condition called acanthosis nigricans. The most common cause of this condition is insulin resistance. Eating too much refined sugar and carbs causes this condition. I have acanthosis nigricians and my insulin was 3 times higher than normal. I could not lose any weight until I lowered my insulin levels regardless of cutting calories to exercising to being hyperthyroid for a year. High insulin = fat storing mode. Changing your diet is KEY to weight loss.

I really would like to if they would make the process happen faster and easier, but of coursee i would be working out and watching what i eat a little more if i take diet pills…which do you suggest? And what should i do at the gym to work on my stomach and thighs…crunches make my neck and back hurt…but reaaaally would appreciate it if you can suggest a diet pill that works well, AND ones that i won't have problems with when i don't want to take them anymore (some people told me with some diet pills you can gain the weight back) i would love to lose as much weight as i can by halloween, best answer gets 10points of course!

I can totally relate to your problem. Everyone has different ideas when it comes to losing weight and getting fitter and 'more toned'

Basically, it has all been complicated by a huge industry who wants us to believe all manner of things so that they can make more money. The truth of the matter is losing fat is not easy and once you realise that, you can get down to the business of getting rid of it.

What you need to do is watch what you eat. Well how do you go about that? First of all cut out all the processed foods that you currently eat. Cakes, biscuits, pastries, lollies etc for a start. All soft drinks, even diet ones, fruit juices, breads, pastas and premade or packaged meals (even if they look like real food) What does that leave you to eat you are probably asking?

Real food-all fruits and vegetables. All meats-chicken, fish, beef , lamb to name a few. Eggs and nuts and seeds.

Make sure that you eat every 2-3 hours. Yes that often. Eat a serve of a protein containing food (eg 100-120g of lean meat) and all the fruits and vegetables that you want in that meal. Eat that 5-6 times per day.

Drink only water and tea or coffee with no sugar and preferably the tiniest bit of milk if you can't have it black. More details can be found on my website Http://www.fitterfasteronline.com.” rel=”nofollow” target=”_blank”>Http://www.fitterfasteronline.com. By the way, the info is free.

Now exercise. This is most important. A fit body is a lean healthy one. You should be working out at least 5 times per week. About 30 minutes per workout is enough. The workouts must be high intensity to be most effective.

I have changed the bodies of many many people including my own and kept the weight off with these methods. You may think you don't have the energy to do this, but do it anyway and it will give you more energy than you ever thought you could have. Believe it or not, you are not the only tired, busy person in the world and many of the other tired, busy people have done this and succeeded.

Don't let yourself come up with any excuses. Not enough time, too tired, big boned, slow metabolism, no equipment, too expensive, too stressed. Sounding familiar?

Check out Http://www.fitterfasteronline.com for free workouts and nutrition advice.

If you have any other questions, please contact me via the site at any time. And by the way, I have 5 young children and heaps of stretch marks. No one notices them especially when you look fit and lean. Believe me!!

Goodluck and don't sell yourself short. Be one of the success stories

Jo Butler.

Who can give me an actual success story with a diet pill?

I'm getting married and need to lose around 10 lbs, I am doing an exercise regimen, but I just cant make it over that little hump. I dont want anything with caffeine, that will make me jittery, or make me lose my appetite. Maybe just speed up metabolism or help the fat loss. Thanks everyone!!

Please do not try diet pills because they are not the long term answer and many can cause negative health effects. Consider a healthy lifestyle change.

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at Http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/…

Get an online, desktop, or cell phone diet and fitness calculator. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:
Adults: Http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.ht…
Teens/Children: Http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/w…

It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.

Black Women Weight Loss Stories

Questions and Answers

Is this right for weight loss?

I'm trying to lose weight. I know that I can lose weight if I eat healthy and exercise but, can I lose weight by juicing fruits and veggies.

So far I have been juicing beets and black grapes, carrots and cantaloupe, apples, pear, grapefruit and carrots. Is this an awesome way to lose weight.

I have also been snacking on the fruits and vegetables like carrots, celery, apples, a lot of Grapefruits, oranges, pears, cantaloupe, and more celery.

I have also dropped from a size 13 to a 10 in jeans. I also have more energy. My goal weight is 130-ish.Since I joined a dance group for two hours twice a week and If I walked home a lot, can I lose more weight?

And If you can, can you please, give me more tips to lose weight?

I myself don't do what you are doing, but it is rather good for you. I have heard/experienced myself medical stories of a man curing his colon cancer, kidney disease, and diabetes by juicing nothing but raw fruits and veggies. It is very good for your body.

I suggest adding cardio/weightlifting to your routine. I know a lot of women don't like to weight lift because they fear getting bulky, but that will not happen unless you 1)work out EXCESSIVELY and 2) take testosterone supplements. Cardio is great for melting fat off the body and promoting a strong and healthy heart.

Weight lifting increases muscle strength, and more muscle=more calories burned daily.

Should I deprive myself of rice? And pork? Since pork is very fatty…

1 Have confidence in yourself. You should know the exact reason that stimulates you to reduce your weight. This will help keep you motivated in your weight loss program. Know that millions of people do it, and so can you! You're never too out of shape to get into shape!

2 Set an achievable goal for your weight reduction. If the aim is not practical then you will easily get disheartened and stop following your regimen. You must set a target that has a time limit. The amount of weight you want to lose and the time within which you would like to lose it should be decided beforehand. If the time and amount of weight is clearly decided primarily, your enthusiasm will keep you on the track until you reach your destination.

3 Determine your daily caloric intake. Losing weight is simply an activity. Lower your calories intake without starving. Remember to calculate your metabolism. The metabolism is a large part of your calories burned in an average day. To win the battle, know how many calories you consume in a day.
Write down all the things you eat on a typical day. Carry a small notebook with you and write down every snack, every drink, and the contents of every meal. There are also great websites that you can use to keep track of calories, get recipes, and help achieve your goal. Don't forget to include the pats of butter or the spoonful of sugar in your coffee. It's best to do this for at least a couple weekdays and a weekend; it's even better if you can go a full week. There are also calorie tracking websites that can help you to do this, such as the US government Pyramid Tracker website.

Do an itemized calorie count. When possible, write down the number of calories in each food you eat as you eat it. Keep in mind that the recommended serving size is often considerably smaller than the serving you actually eat. Look up the calorie count on the internet for foods that don't have calories listed on the container or for fast food meals. You don't have to be 100% accurate, but you do want a good estimate of the number of calories you're taking in. There is an idea that multiplying your ideal weight by ten will produce a rough estimate of the number of calories you need to eat per day to maintain your weight. This is not true for everyone. You may wind up grossly under or over estimating the number of calories you should be eating. Consult a nutritionist. Use a scientific or health website to determine the number of calories you should eat a day or consult your doctor. Everyone has different metabolisms and there is no blanket rule that covers everyone's recommended calorie intake. Reducing 500 calories per day from the calories you eat to maintain your weight can help you lose a pound of fat per week.

4 Go over the list and decide which foods to cut out or reduce. Cutting calories is usually a lot easier than you might think. For example, that daily tall latte in the morning may pack 500 calories. Since a pound of flab (lost or gained) is roughly equivalent to 3,500 calories, replacing that rich beverage with black coffee can help you lose a pound a week. Other easy cuts include salad dressing (salad dressing is the number one source of fat in the average American woman's diet

[4]), soda pop, candy, and butter. Look at the nutritional information for the foods you eat, pay special attention to your intake of saturated fats and empty calorie, high-sugar foods. You don't need to cut these things out entirely, but if you reduce your intake of high-fat, high-calorie foods you'll

lose weight

5 Seek out alternatives to the unhealthy foods you've identified. You can simply reduce the amount of soda you drink or mayonnaise you put on your sandwiches, or you can substitute healthier choices.

Drink water instead of soda, for example, or use mustard instead of mayo. Low-fat and low-calorie options are also available for most foods, and many of these are natural, (although some may contain chemicals), and tasty. Start trying to

eat healthy in most meals:

Choose lean meats. Chicken and fish are both very low in fat, and certain fish like salmon, sardines, and fresh tuna are an excellent sources of antioxidants and Omega-3 fatty acids, which are also beneficial to your health, so aim to replace some or all of the beef or pork in your diet with these foods.

Replace high-calorie side dishes with healthier alternatives. Many people get a ton of calories from side dishes such as macaroni and cheese, French fries, or potato salad. You can

eat healthier

and lose weight by replacing these with fresh vegetables and salads. Pre-made salads are practically effortless, and when accompanied by a reduced-calorie dressing or no dressing at all, they're weight-loss gold.

Start your days off right. A fattening breakfast of bacon and eggs or a pastry can be replaced with

yogurt, oatmeal, high-fiber, low-sugar cereals; or fresh fruit for fruit smoothies. However, for.

A new weight loss plan….?

Ok, apparently i need a new approach to lose weight…. I had a baby 3 months ago, I was roughly 173 at delivery. I am now about 132 roughly.. The weight pretty much fell off in the fist two weeks, so i thought it was gonna be easy to get it all off. Well, 132 may not sound huge, but I was 120 give or take a lb b4 hand. Im 5'4, so 120 isnt really to thin on me, its just right for my body, because I have a small framed bone structure. All that aside, I just want to make it back there again. Im getting really discouraged. For the last 6 weeks I have, excersized.. Nothing hardcore, but like atleast 3 times a week going for 30 min jogs, or bike rides. The days I do not go outside, I stay very active in side the home. Usually everyday in the home, Ill do 15 minutes of cardio, a few pushups, sit ups, crunches, u name it. I def stay active. I eat about 4 or 5 small meals a day. Roughly taking in 1200 calories a day. Only Water or Black coffee to drink. I stay away from all sodas, sweet teas, ect… I stay away from bread, unless its light wheat or whole grain. I just have apparently plateued and nothing I do is working…. I need a new approach. These last 10 lbs will not come off, no matter what! Oh and di i mention the food i eat, is mainly raw veggies, fresh fruit. If I do eat meat, it is no more than 3oz, of lean grilled meat at a time. I am doing every proper way to lose weight healthy and it is not working…Im about 30 seconds away of becoming a hardcore crackhead to drop the weight..(totally joking, but I just want it gone, like now) Well any tips would be appreciated :)
Oh i forgot to add, just last week i started green tea with hoodia,, im going to see how that pans out too.. Maybe it will help :)

My Weight Loss Story

Questions and Answers

Any succesful weight loss stories?

I would love to hear them, even if it's just a couple of pounds. Please describe how you did it. Thanks!

This isn't a conventional weight lost story but I'll go ahead and tell you anyway. If first started lifting weights on a regular basis (3+ times a week) about 1 year ago. I weighed about 200LBS and wanted to put on some extra muscle. So I looked to gain weight. I looked to gain weight because in order to have significant muscular growth you need bulk. So, I started eating big, lifting big and so forth. From May 2006 to November 2006 I gained 25 LBS and I was 225 LBS. From November 2006 to today I've lost 20 LBS of fat (and I measured) and I have a more lean physique.

How did I do it? In order to gain weight I ate at least 3500 calories a day. I ate 6 meals a day and looked to eat as much protein as possible. I did very little cardio and hit the weights at least 4 times a week.

To lose weight, what I did was I cut down my calorie intake and kept my protein intake the same. I ate about 2000 calories a day (keep in mind that I was 225LBS) and still ate the 220 grams of protein that I needed. I became a vegetarian during this time as well so I didn't eat alot fat either. I looked to eat raw foods and organic as much as possible. I didn't eat any junk food (fastfood, carbonated drinks, processed food, etc . . .) either. I altered my diet and my exercise regimen. Not all at once but through gradual change. As for my exercise regimen: I lifted the same except that this time I did alot more cardio than before. An hour a day, 5 days a week along with an hour of weight lifting. It took me 15 weeks to lose 20 pounds and I can't believe how smooth it went. I never had any withdrawls like some people say they do and I rarely ever had any slumps in progress during this time. Right now I weight 205LBS at 6'2" and I plan to keep myself at this weight.

I think that most people could lose weight if they had enough determination. I believe that whether you're looking to gain weight or lose it, it's a 75% psychological and 25% physical effort. The fact is, is that if you don't have the will power and determination to get something done, it's not going to get done. If you can't put those chips down and get into that gym, you're not going to see progress and I don't care what regimen of weight loss pills you take.

Tell me your weight loss story :)?

Which was your diet, how much do you exericed and how much do you loss.

To lose weight fast you have to give consideration to two factors. First, you have to devise your weight loss exercise plan and secondly, you have to watch the kind and amount of food that you eat.

Your program to lose weight fast can be created without any professional guidance. You just have to exercise frequently; this is the best way to burn the extra calories. Exercises do not have to be strenuous activities. You can just do brisk walking, jogging, running or dancing. Some people who want to shed pounds quickly engage in sports. This can be more fun rather than just going to the gym and pounding away on a treadmill, especially if you do it with your friends.

A simple tossing of the ball, shooting basketball or badminton is enough to burn your excess calories. These are just options and you can choose anything you like. What is important is to select the calorie burning activity that you can do with dedication and without restriction. Furthermore, you should do the exercises consistently. You can start with just a few hours, three times a week. Over-exercising when your body is not used to the activities can cause injuries to nerves and muscles. Start slowly and then increase the amount you do as you become fitter.

The second important factor to lose weight fast is to observe the right diet. There are certain kinds of foods that are very high in calories. You should limit your food intake, especially those that are too high in caloric content. It is better include more fruits and vegetables in your diet. These are not only low in calories, but are also good for detoxification.

So, the best way to lose weight fast is to exercise and to eat properly.

The basics of weight loss are not as complicated as people make it out to be. You need to simply change your diet to healthy whole foods, fruits and veggies and get plenty of exercise.

This is hard to do for most of us because we are tempted with junk foods all the time.

If you want a structured diet plan that will tell you the types of food that you can eat and when you should eat them you can find diet plans that will do that at

Inspirational weight loss stories?

I have about 5kg left to lose(I have lost 22kg already) I find that hearing other peoples weight loss stories help motivate me to keep going. Does anyone have success stories they would like to share? Or know of websites that I could read some? :D.

I lost 30lbs in 4 months. I had such a hard time losing weight when I turn 40, I just kept gaining weight for no good reason, didn't change the way I ate or exercised but I know its because when you turn 40 your metabolism slows down alot.So I found a site on facebook, type in hcg, and I started doing the drops and I couldn't believe the amazing results I got, I'm still on it cause I have like 45lbs to go but it DOES work. Trust me, it took a long time for me to find something that actually works and this works!

I would like to hear some inspirational weight loss stories?

I need to lose about 40 lbs and am looking for other peoples experiences and stories to motivate myself and give me some tips.

I lost 50 pounds…

No diet pills… Just with exercise and a healthy diet. I didn't starve myself. I found a good personal trainer and bought a treadmill. I found a very reasonable personal trainer (look in your local paper, not in any of the bigger fitness places like Bally's, they are ridiculously expensive there). I bought a $800 treadmill on sale for about $300 around Christmas 2 years ago, they are all on sale around then. I got mine at Dick's sporting goods. It's the store brand, Horizon, I love it & it still works as well as the day I got it. My advice, pay a little extra for them to deliver & assemble it if you do. Also, set it in front of a TV. Jogging or walking for a half hour while watching your favorite sitcom makes the time just fly by!!!

I was really inspired by watching Everest: Beyond the Limit. I figured, if these guys have these health problems and are climbing Everest, then I can get up off my butt and lose the weight. I guess inspiration comes from the strangest places.

I remember 2 years ago I bought these really expensive jeans that I really liked, but they were about 6 sizes too small. I wanted them to be my reward when I actually lost the weight. I tried them on every few weeks and saw them fitting better and better every time. The last time I tried them on… They were too BIG! I was shocked and so happy… I just sold them on ebay. Everyone compliments me on the weight I lost and they all say I look beautiful!

Remember, once you take that 1st step, you have to keep at it. Buy yourself some jeans a few sizes too small and see how long it takes you to fit into them.. It's AWESOME when you finally do!!!

Good luck, I hope I helped!!!

Losing weight is simple in theory, harder in practice. Just cut down the calories and replace junk with healthy foods.

If your over weight there is a reason, snacking? Over eating? Eating untill full? Eating high calorie foods for snacks.

When i was 11 i was about 3 stone overweight, i was bullied. But when i stopped eating as much, and only ate until i was full i started to lose the weight. I then gained 5 stone when i was 19 and weighed 17 stone.

Again i lost that weight, Its alot of hard work but when you acheive it oh my gosh you feel amazing looking at youself, your confidence, charisma and happiness begins to show and it reflects in others around you.

Eat plenty of fruit and veg, get at least 30 mins of exercise everday and only eat the right ammounts of food. Stop when your full.

You can do it and when you do you will love yourself, and believe you can do anything :)

good luck.

Involuntary weight loss, I don't know what's wrong?

I'm a little under 5'5" and I weigh about 105 normally and I'm 15, which is already pretty small. I can't really afford to lose any weight. A couple weeks ago I had enflamed gums (it's a long story, I'm not gonna explain) and I lost a couple lbs because it hurt to eat most things. So I was an average of about 102, which isn't horrible. I weigh myself almost every day out of habit, just to see. Two days ago I was 102. I weighed myself yesterday (just after I ate too!) and I was about 97. Five lbs in one day? Just wrong in my book. I weighed myself today, and I'm 94. This isn't normal, and I'm not sure what's wrong, and I'm a bit worried? I lost over ten lbs in two days… But also, I don't look any smaller. I don't know where this weight is being taken away from. Help.

Thank you.
I should of added more info. Well, I'm been menstrating for three years and that's never happened. Also, I'm not due for my period soon, and I finished over a week ago. Also, I'll go a day without eating sometimes (def during school with work and everything) and lose about two lbs, not five. But then I gain it back to normal once I eat again.

You are slim and that is good. But you must have Dr. Run test to rule out any other problem that is causing you to loose weight, once in a while many people loose as much as 5 pound in a day and that can be attributable mainly to dehydration or water loss(if from previous water retention then it is very good, female have this going on in their life because of their monthly cycles).

You do need to change the life style or you can cause serious irreversible damage to yourself.

Minimum is 3 meals per day hopefully at same time every day (example, break fast in the morning, lunch around noon and dinner around evening). You cannot study on empty stomach, food in the stomach allows you to concentrate more on your study so must take a break and eat at least 3 meals. If after you are feeling drowsy then eat 6 small meals while studying(eat very light but Fuel the brain, on, on going bases.

At 15 you are still growing so grow gracefully, eat well, and right. Your calorie in take should be per this site.

The best way is to eat right and exercise, gain it slowly a pound per week but 1/2 pound will be even batter, gain it slow and keep it for ever gain it fast and learn for sure haste is waste and it just shows up on your waist latter.

Just eat right, sleep 8 to 9 hours, drink a gallon of water and exercise. Math is simple, eat 3500 calories more then you burn and gain 1 pound of weight. Eat the calories per link and you will not loose mussels tissue, if you are active and or if you exercise regularly.

Hint: You need to use the weight if you like to bulk up for competition, or just to show off. For toning you must not use weights or only very light weights.

Have you ever heard of Momentum Weight Loss System, and is it any good?

Posted by Chas A

Yes, I have heard of the system. Jonathan Roche puts out a podcast (free from ITunes). You can hear his weekly podcast where people call him to ask questions or provide testimonials about his system. If you listen to a few of his shows, you will hear many callers call in their success stories. He is a phenominal human being and it isn't hard to notice the first time you hear is podcast that he loves what he does and is cheering everyone on in his program. You don't even have to buy the program to have him cheer you on for whatever you are doing towards your fitness program.

His system comes with a top of the line Heart Rate monitor, food and nutrition guide, a DVD and a few CDs. It also includes an online web-based software, which was very appealing from what I saw. After you report your workouts on the software, you earn points to get free workout gear (shipping on them!) The system might be $99 now – check on his website.

I am a recent purchaser of the system, so cannot tell you my success yet – but what happened today FLOORED me with this company. I received the package recently and was having trouble setting up the heart rate monitor. I wrote an E-mail to tech support and figured it would be a day for a response because they have had a major increase in orders recently. 15 minutes later I receive a call from Jonathan Roche himself – he had read my E-mail and thought he'd call me and answer my question personally so I could use the system ASAP.

We spoke for 20 minutes about his system and our thoughts on the explosive diet industry and how he just wants to get some right and true information out there and make a difference to people frustrated with all the mixed messages. He gave me is direct E-mail and telephone number and told me to call him any time I had a question or comment about the program.

What a great experience to welcome me to this new lifestyle. I got off the phone and realized that I didn't just buy the system and was on my own – he really is there cheering everyone on and you can hear it on his podcast.

Check out the website and podcast before you decide – but I give it high marks by just the heart behind the company.

Acai berry dosage for weight loss?

DONT POST SPAM. I will report all the ads posted as "answers"

I have been looking into acai berry for weight loss and have tried a 500mg 5:1 dosage and now have a 1000mg soft gel 4:1

I want energy and weight loss… I am doing p90x as well as work on my feet.

What dosage is proper to support weight loss?

Thanks for the quick answers… I bought these gel caps for $1/30 so for $5 got 150 pills of 1000mg each.

I was aware of some lawsuit over dr oz and didn't know it was over acai.

Webmd says there are likely benefits to health, fat loss not one of them but since I'm trying to detox off caffeine (I'm highly addicted taking upwards of 800mg a day) I find these are helping me.

Posted by Steven J Campbell

The acai berry has no special properties and has nothing to do with fat loss. The myth began when a doctor, Dr. Mehmet Oz, from Columbia Uni mentioned the berry on the Oprah show and supplements makers, being the scammers they are, began promoting products using acai as having beneficial properties they don't have often invoking the names of Oprah an Dr. Oz. Oprah and Oz filed suit against many supplements makets and the acai myth was born. Go here to read about it –> Http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=83691… Consumers, being credulous and ignorant of how supplements scammers bilk the public, began repeating and propagating the myth to the point of it becoming a global meme.

Here's an example of how scammers have created fake news websites just to sell acai junk to credulous web surfers. Ref: Http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2011/04/fakenews….
Note the excerpt: "FTC Seeks to Halt 10 Operators of Fake News Sites from Making Deceptive Claims About Acai Berry Weight Loss Products. Internet Marketers Falsely Claim Endorsement from ABC, Fox News, CBS, CNN, USA Today, and Consumer Reports, FTC Alleges"

Here's an complaint forum about Acai Fit. Ref: Http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaint…
Note the excerpt: "Ordered Acai-Fit weight loss pills online. They advertise Free Trial for 1 month if you just pay shipping. Sounds good but you are billed $74.82 after 14 days of using the product! This is completely nonrefundable. At that point you can only stop future shipments. It defiantly takes more time to see if a product works. Even though I saw no effects, they still charged me. Do yourself a favor READ THE FINE PRINT. Not a mistake I will make again! Don't be fooled. If it seems to be too good to be true…IT IS."

Forget the acai berry..unless you're familiar with it and happen to like it. It does nothing special. End of story.

There is a lesson to be learned from the acai berry phenomena and that is that most supplement makers are frauds, fakes, and only interested in taking your money. In particular the areas of diet and fitness are plagued with such charlatans and beset with countless myths and you'll see them every day in this forum. From protein shakes and muscle building supplements to silly Shake Weight and Ab Circle equipment to fad diets and green tea and Shape-Up toning shoes and on and on the BS runs rampant in Diet & Fitness. So, always be skeptical of and apply critical thinking to all advertising, reviews, articles, blogs, testimonials, and anything else which can be subverted by scammers. If a scammer can use it, they are.

Good luck and good health!!
